This Week’s Curriculum Focus:
Printing – e and o
Phonics – f
We learned about Terry Fox and wrote about who we was. Many students said that Terry was a hero and a great person. Students continue to focus on writing the first sound of each word as well as putting in any other sounds they may hear.
Students created patterns at the lake on Tuesday. They also made patterns in class using coloured cubes. We have been focusing on patters using A, B, and C. Ask your child to make you some patterns out of objects around the house, and to name them.
We learned about 4 reading strategies that will help us with unknown words:
Look at the picture for clues
Get your lips ready to make the first sound
Search for sight words
Track with your finger
Have a great weekend!
