Printing – We printed the lowercase letters ‘d’ and ‘s’
Phonics – We focused on beginning and ending sounds for the letters m, b, s, and f
Writing – Students looked at a picture prompt of a farm in the fall and wrote about what they would do. They also wrote about what they were thankful for and many included why they were thankful for that.
Reading – We began our guided reading program during out literacy centres. Students are practicing their sight words as well as reading strategies: tracking with your finger, find the sight words, get your mouth ready to say the first sound, look at the picture for clues.
Counting to 100 – Students have been practicing counting to 100 using our hundreds chart, songs, and movement activities
Patterns – This week we finished our unit on patterns. Students copied and extended a pattern then labelled it using A, B, C
Subatizing – We are using math chats and games to help students recognize the number of objects in groups without having to count them.
Next Week’s Sight Words
