In Physical Education at Chaparral School, we have begun exploring various module activities and skill sets that can be developed throughout the year. Each module focuses on specific skills that can be applied in a variety of sports and activities. Making connections with our skills in a variety of contexts, allows us to build confidence and our overall competence in applying these skills in a number of different areas. Our end goal in Physical Education is to increase personal enjoyment and participation in physical activity, and to foster students who will pursue an active lifestyle for years to come.

Terry Fox Run- September 29th
Chaparral School celebrated and honored the legacy of Terry Fox throughout September with a variety of activities, discussions, and tasks that focused on some of the big concepts that come to mind when we think of Terry Fox. Caring for others, showing courage, and resiliency were some of the powerful themes found throughout our work and Terry’s Marathon of Hope. Students were able to make connections with what they know and love about Terry Fox with our school’s belief to the importance of showing simple acts of kindness, like being an ‘every-day kind of hero’.
We are so excited to announce that through our ‘Toonies for Terry’ fundraising, we were able to make a donation to the Terry Fox Foundation for $1115.15. Thank you so much to everyone who was able to contribute towards this incredibly meaningful fundraiser.
Thank you so much to all of our volunteers and donors who helped make our Terry Fox run on September 29th a success. Our students and staff are very appreciative of your help.
