We have been sharing the remaining Powerpoints that students have been finishing from their summer experiences. We also read about the significance of orange shirt day and the work being done by the Calgary Board of Education to honour indeginious history.
We are beginning to look at whole numbers up to 10,000.Our focus this week was reviewing standard numbers (eg.2159) and expanded form 2000+100+50+9 or two thousand one hundred fifty-nine. As well, our ongoing work in problem solving addresses several aspects of math such as: learning how to collect data, read tables, charts and show your thinking.
We continue to connect our learning about plants to natural resources of Alberta’s regions. We have had various discussions about what oil is and what Alberta was like before oil and gas was discovered. We have also examined forestry and its importance as a renewable resource in our province, as well.
