It's looking a little more like Fall today!! This is really helpful since we are studying Seasonal Changes in Science Inquiry. Today the students started a beautiful Autumn Tree art project. It's a big project that we will finish next week. In the last two weeks we have learned about what animals are doing in the fall, specifically Canadian Geese. They were introduced to the term migration. We also learned about what adaptations people make in the fall (different clothes, foods and activities).
We continue to work hard at our reading. This week we learned about the "screaming ee's". All week the students have been adding enthusiastically to our "screaming ee" word chart. Ask your child about "Ormie the Pig." This is a funny wordless video that we watched this week and responded to in our journals. We learned that Ormie has Grit (or never give up/perseverance).
We have continued to work on Patterns this week in Math. We continued to work on making all different kinds of patterns (eg: abcd, abbcc, abbc, etc) and naming the core. Students are doing really well with this and we are just about ready to move on!! They love making patterns!
