Jason was the Star Student this week and was 100% independent with his jobs. Jason continues to be an excellent role model in our classroom.
We all absolutely loved going to Heritage Park on Tuesday morning. We were involved in a school program that encouraged us to use our 5 senses throughout Gasoline Alley. What fun we had! The best part was getting to drive a vintage car which was a convertible. We also got to dress up in clothes from the 1900's and sit on a pretend train car. The pictures we took turned out so well and we enjoy looking at them.
We continue to learn about Outer Space and fun facts about each planet. We have learned a new song about the planets that helps us to remember their names. Our grade 6 buddies made tin-foil stars with us and we added them to our Space Bullentin Board. It is so cool to watch our learning grow.
Our Occupational Therapist, Nicole, used the space theme in her lesson this week. We made Space Shuttle Kabobs out of veggies and cheese. We all used plastic knives to help cut some of the vegetables and cheese and then added them to a skewer. The best part was getting to eat the kabobs at the end of the lesson. What excellent life skills we are practicing.
Today is Groundhogs' Day and we have enjoyed learning about Balzac Billy. We will be checking to see his "prediction" later this morning. Our Groundhog craft and poem will be going home toady. We think it is so funny to make the Groundhog go up and down from his burrow.
We are all looking forward to our 100 Days of School Celebration next Friday. We sure hope the weather warms up for our walk to Humpty's Restaurant!
