Library Day: Monday
Home Reading Exchange: Monday
PD Day: January 27th
Curriculum Focus this past week:
Social Studies: Our social studies focus this week was on our families. The class had the opportunity to draw and write about who was in their families. After reading the Todd Parr book The Family Book, we discussed how families are all different. The students worked in pairs to compare their families and they used a Venn diagram to demonstrate how their families were the same and how they were different.
Math: After reading the book The Napping House, the students were asked to solve the following word problem: How many legs are in the house? The students had to figure out who was in the house and then represent how many legs were in the house through a picture, an equation and a sentence.
Buddies: Our grade 4 buddies helped our class log onto the computers and practice typing sight words. The grade 4s also supported our class with changing font and adding colors to the sight words.
Have a great weekend!
